Merit office Installations have been around for 30 years. They are well established in the commercial office moves and furniture installation market. They have an extensive fleet of vehicles and an impressive portfolio of customers. Due to further expansion, Merit acquired an extra 20,000 sq. ft. unit to cope with demands of the business. Roy Ashford, Director of Merit, was looking for new pallet racking to store as many Euro Pallets as possible of up to 660kg each in the new warehouse.
Identifying Customer Needs
Acorn Storage Equipment was called upon to help with the supply & installation of the pallet racking for the new warehouse. Neil Wood, of Acorn Storage, who has experience with many warehouse fit outs in the past, managed the project.
Neil carried out the initial site survey, prepared scaled layout drawings and negotiated a very keen price with Merit for the supply and installation of the complete system in accordance with current codes of practice.
The Finer Details
The operation at Merit meant that there would need to be some drive through bays for forklift trucks in order to improve the efficiency and speed of the operation. Also, due to the nature of the business, upright protectors were included, to protect the racking from fork lift truck damage. Details like this were incorporated from the beginning, demonstrating how important it is to ask the right questions in order to get the best racking solution for individual needs
Looking to the Future
Once the supply of all the materials was complete, our fully trained SEIRS Registered installation team was on site to complete the job.Merit are now in their building with the pallet racking in use, and the family run business is looking forward to the next 30 years.
