Independent Racking Inspections

Due to the very busy nature of a factory or warehouse environment, pallet racking can occasionally suffer damage from forklift trucks and pump trucks from time to time. 

While most bangs and knocks may seem minor, they can often have a cumulative effect on the structural integrity of the pallet racking, especially if the racking is overloaded. In order to maintain the health and safety of your workers and to avoid expensive damage to stock, pallet racking and storage needs to be monitored with regular checks and inspections by a technically competent person. 

A safety inspection of your adjustable pallet racking is required under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.  

Regular racking inspection also fulfils your obligations under the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999, as well as the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998.

Following your extensive racking inspection, you will receive a comprehensive report that can be used as an audit to check the condition of equipment for health and safety purposes.   

By following the report's suggestions, you will be easily able to keep your pallet racking to a legally acceptable standard. For some companies, an annual racking inspection report by a suitably qualified inspector will be required in order to comply with insurance demands.
