Independent Pallet Racking Inspections

As many warehouses and industrial environments across Canterbury can often be incredibly busy, pump trucks and forklifts can at times unintentionally cause damage to pallet racking.

While most bangs and knocks may seem very minor, they can often have an extra cumulative effect on the structural integrity of the pallet racking, especially if the racking has become overloaded. In order to maintain the safety of your employees and avoid potentially expensive damage to stock, pallet racking needs to be monitored through regular inspection by a technically competent and experienced person.

A safety inspection of your adjustable pallet racking is required under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974

Regular racking inspection also fulfils your obligations under the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 and the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998.

At the end of your racking inspection, you will be given a comprehensive report, which can be used as an audit to check the condition of equipment for health and safety purposes too.

By following the report's suggestions and recommendations, you will be able to keep your pallet racking to a legally acceptable standard. For some Kent and Canterbury companies, an annual racking inspection report by a suitably experienced and qualified inspector will be required in order to comply with insurance demands.

All our pallet racking inspections are carried out in accordance with the Storage Equipment Manufacturers Association (SEMA) Code of Practice. These can be carried out by an external racking inspector, who will give an independent assessment of the racking. If repairs are required, Acorn Storage Equipment are able to supply new replacement items and offer a full repair service from our team of SEIRS registered installers.

We offer one-off racking inspections or regular planned inspections as required. For costs and a visit from one of our inspectors to your Canterbury or Kent premises, please contact us.
